Graduating from Penn? Coverage for Young Adults:

One provision of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA), also known as Healthcare Reform, is that young adults can stay on their parents’ healthcare plan until 26 years of age. You can be insured as a dependent on your parents’ health insurance whether or not you are still enrolled in school.

Starting in 2014, if your employer does not offer you insurance, you can purchase insurance through an exchange, and tax credits may be available to help pay for it.

Starting in 2014, if you are unemployed with limited income (up to approximately $15,000 per year for a single person), you may be eligible for health insurance coverage through Medicaid.
